About Pete Sears
Pete has a long history of entertaining crowds with his fingerpicking guitar style, bluesy harmonica and soulful singing from New York to California. Beginning in the 60’s with his favorite Christmas gift, a Yamaha 6-string, Pete started stealing licks from his singer/songwriter guitar heroes, Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon and then on to Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Stephen Stills, Leo Kottke, John Prine and Mark Knopfler and more recently, Jack Johnson and Ed Sheeran. Pete loves to play the songs you want to hear, so feel free to ask him to do one of your favorites. He does it all — rock, blues, country, or even an old standard from the American songbook….as Pete says, “Hey, good is good!” Originally from upstate New York, Pete polished his folky chops in dozens of northeast coffeehouses and joints before delving into country and blues in the DC-Virginia area. Then it was off to California, where Pete played and sang in lots of bands and groups. (He also spent twenty years writing jokes for Jay Leno on the Tonight Show…but as the song says, that’s another story.)VENUES:
